 BONGO RIDE CHARITY CRUISE

 

is a driving holiday organized by Bongo Ride Limited who support charities in need, with the help of car enthusiasts all around Tanzania.

It's all about the journey more than the arrival. We are not aiming for the 'lads mag' image, nor the Max Power types.  We have plotted the routes so that you should easily be able to hit, so there is a massive margin for sight-seeing or partying if required.  We are looking for a nice fun atmosphere for everyone.

Our aim is to help you have a fantastic, unique, adventure fueled break, without the emphasis on targeted fund raising, however all participants or teams will need to raise something for charity.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

-Be a driver.

  This is by far the best way to get involved. Weather you’re a rally driver or a normal driver you can join.

-Be a passenger.

  You don’t have to drive to participate, you can be a passenger in any of the cars or the bikes.

-Be a fundraiser/individual , or corporate sponsor.

  If you are coming on the run you will have to raise money. However if you don’t want to join us then you can still raise money for the chosen charity. Corporate sponsors are most welcome.

-Become an affiliate.

  Exchange of logos and links – you scratch our backs and we scratch yours.

  Place our official logo and link to the Bongo Ride social network accounts  on your ……and we will display your Company site on our blog and on our social networking pages.

 THE PREREQUISITES AT A GLANCE

         -Should be 18 years old or over;

-Have sense of humor;

-Have a valid license (for a driver);

-Have a vehicle that is roadworthy and legal;

          -Be able to follow instructions.

ABOUT THE CHOSEN CRUISE

-Since this is the election year, As youth we are highly motivated to deal with peace in different ways thus joining and cruising together from Dar es Salaam to Morogoro will generate a strong commitment of peace and love so as to build a wide network among ourselves and those who will get inspired with our ‘Peace Cruise’

-Due to the main theme of our second charity cruise (Cruise for Peace), We have chosen to go to Morogoro for both Spreading peace and giving people opportunity to learn more about HIV/AIDS  from one among the Organizations within the Region WAVUMO (Wanaoishi na Virusi vya Ukimwi Morogoro) we also aim to provide Water Pumps to their organization as to support them in their agricultural projects.

v-The mission is to provide quality and cost effective, promotive, preventive, curative, rehabilitative, training and palliative health services to the community for sustainable social economic development.

 

 WAVUMO ORGANISATION HISTORY

  WAVUMO ( Wanaoishi na virusi vya UKIMWI Morogoro (People living with HIV/AIDs in Morogoro Region) Organization started on 2000 year, with 16 members. The Organization gets its registration on February 01,  2001, with Registration number 10781.WAVUMO is initiated by members themselves who live with HIV/AID. So it is member based Organization contains with their own government system, as it is shown in Constitutional goals. 

      An Organization Registered to do its  activities in all Morogoro districts, but at a time, doing it activities in only one district which is Morogoro Municipal, this is due to lack of enough fund to operate  running cost in all district and Scarcity of Skilled Human Resources  to manage organization activities in all district.WAVUMO Organization has its members not less than 512, Not only WAVUMO  member who served by WAVUMO but  also  serve PLHIV  who are non-member to WAVUMO, until  now the Organization served about 3000 clients in Morogoro Municipal  who are not member of WAVUMO. 

         At a time an Organization sponsored by USAID in TUNAJALI Project, which Implement Home Based Care to PLHIV (People living with HIV/AIDS). 

All PARTICIPANTS MUST ADHERE TO THE FOLLOWING: 

-Safety.

-It is a participant’s responsibility to ensure that they are healthy and accountable enough to take part in the Event.

-All illegal substances in the destinations visiting are prohibited;

-Anti-social behavior will not be tolerated;

-All participants that are driving must hold a valid drivers license. 

-Every vehicle entered must hold a valid MOT, Vehicle Road Tax, V5 and insurance.

-Have a sense of humor; and know your limits, there will be a lot of driving involved

-think! If your actions land you or anyone else in trouble, we will limit our help, we will not be enthusiastic towards those that wish to ruin the trip

        If the Event Team discovers that any of the above have not been met, they reserve the right to bar the respective participant(s) from continuing the Event, or joining any future Events.

  We will also say here that we don't discriminate, we don't judge we may play pranks within the Event Team, but we are not out to make anyone uncomfortable, we only want everyone to have fun and be happy.

 NOTE OF THE CRUISE

-Food and Shelter will be covered individually

-Whoever take part in contribution on the fund raise will be recognized on our movement both by Certificates and Mentions on all the Print-outs.

-We are all allowed to bring in anything we have as to support the Movement/WAVUMO.

-We are preparing for a Cruise with the theme of ‘Peace’ thus that  will be our motto this time and it has to be spread by every individual.

-This Cruise is not for/under any Political Party therefore we are not running any campaign from any political party but peace.

-Since this cruise is maintained by the youth, our expectations are 100% sure that it will bring out positive response to the whole community within our country, as it is always said, “Support the Youth, Support the Nation”

-Our intention is to get enough education and experience from WAVUMO so as to be aware and share that knowledge back at home and all over.
